currently accepting resumes for an experienced full-time Elementary
General Studies Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. Scheck

education, it's about the whole child. Summary The Lower School
General Studies Teacher will plan, organize, and implement the
Scheck Hillel instructional program in a primary or elementary
learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop
and fulfill their individual academic and social-emotional
potential. Specifically, this position is designed to implement and
realize the Scheck Hillel educational vision for students &
faculty. The ideal candidate will have a growth mindset, a strong
background in education and a genuine love for teaching children.
The Lower School General Studies Teacher will be responsible for
teaching students in the Lower School a variety of subjects and
skills, including social-emotional learning, language arts, math,
and social studies. Please see below our Educational Vision - for

Meaningful relationships support rigorous learning expectations
along with highly engaging experiences (both in & out of class),
all intentionally designed to maximize achievement, explore
passions and foster identity. Responsibilities Create a positive
and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and
encourages student engagement colleagues to ensure a cohesive and
effective curriculum. Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and
instructional materials that facilitate active learning that meet
the needs of all learners. Communicate clear learning targets &
success criteria to students for all learning activities. Instruct
and monitor students in the use of learning materials and
equipment. Use relevant technology to support and differentiate
instruction. Develop formative and summative assessments in
accordance with established procedures. Encourage and monitor the
progress of individual students and use information to adjust
teaching strategies. Manage student behavior in the classroom to
facilitate learning. Maintain discipline in accordance with the
rules and disciplinary systems of the school. Maintain accurate and
complete records of students' progress and development as required
by laws and school policies. Communicate consistently and in a
timely manner with parents on their child’s academic and behavioral
attitudes and achievements. Maintain safety & security of the
students in the classroom and common school areas. Supervise
students at various school functions such as field and overnight
trips, school assemblies. Attend all parent teacher conferences,
back to school nights, faculty meetings, and substitute in one
class per week as needed. Supervise lunch and recess. Support the
team with carpool and dismissal procedures. Stay up-to-date on
current educational trends and research to continually improve
teaching practices Qualifications Dedication to creating a
nurturing and challenging learning environment for our students
Bachelor's degree in education or related field; Master's degree
preferred A minimum of 3 years teaching experience in a lower
school setting Valid teaching certification, preferred Strong
knowledge of pedagogical practices and learning theories Excellent
